A Kitchen in Queens

Recipes and Reviews from a little kitchen in a borough of nyc.
Ahhhh Mexicue.  Quite possibly one of the best things to come into my life, well, ever.  I am a huge fan of food trucks.  I just can’t help it.  It used to be that the only sandwiches to come out of a truck or a cart were hot dogs or really simple foods.  But over the past few years, the food truck boom has been huge, and there has been a massive influx of gourmet trucks that serve some of the best original fusion food around.  And the King of all food trucks in my mind?  Mexicue.
Mexicue showed up outside my work several months ago.  Always a fan of a workday adventure, I headed outside with a few coworkers to check out the scene.
A super simple menu, the prices seemed reasonable, and the ingredients were quite intriguing.  3 kinds of sliders, and 3 kinds of tacos.  I believe the first thing I ever had was a BBQ Brisket slider and Alabama BBQ Chicken Taco.  I had to mix it up on the 1st time!  I’ve tried just about everything, but recently I’m fallen in love with the Smoked Short Rib taco.  The mole mixed with the pickled onion are to die for on this perfectly concocted taco.
Mexicue also has recently opened 2 stores in NYC as well with lots of new options.  Any of the sliders and tacos can be made into rice bowls and they have a few more options for sides as well, including a very tasty mac and cheese.
My only request?  Start selling the Mexicue chipotle hot sauce to customers!
