A Kitchen in Queens

Recipes and Reviews from a little kitchen in a borough of nyc.
Going from an overly picky eater to an experimental one can be a bit scary, but it’s no surprise that I finally became interested in food because my family consists of several connoisseur of taste. My Uncle Scott is no exception.  Scott has introduced me to flavors I’ve never known.  A lover of various cuisines, he’s introduced me to Lebonese, Dim Sum, hole in the wall China Town spots that I never knew existed and Korean dishes that were quite intimidating, but delicious.
His daughter (my cousin) Hannah just turned 13 and became a Bat Mitvah over the weekend in DC.  Of course she did an absolutely fabulous job, and had pretty much the BEST Bat Mitzvah party I’d ever been to.

And of course, the food was AMAZING.  The adults started with a butternut squash soup with pears (pictured above) and then I learned that I LOVE butternut squash and pears! Who knew?
The rest of the meal was, of course, beautiful.  Short rib roast with vegetables over spinach and a sweet corn souffle.  I would eat that every day if I could.  One of the best bat mitzvah meals I’ve ever had!
Congrats Hannah on your big day and thanks for the delicious food!
